Assignment 1-About Me and Previous Student Critique
Previous Peer Review
1. The first blog I am reviewing is created by Lori Edwards for Geog 390 during Fall of 2015. Overall this blog is a mess and needs a lot of work to become more neat, interesting, and appealing to the eye. Upon initial glance the background photo is nice and adds to the overall aesthetic of the blog. However, the blog opens onto a home tab that is located on the upper right of the screen where it would feel more natural if it were located on the left side because it should come first in the order of operations. Right from the top of the page there are images that do not fit onto the page well with little to no descriptions for said images. Another problem is that some images are labeled as figures while others are not, and overall it appears that many photos were just dumped onto the page with no clear reasoning or explanation as to why or what they are. Further down there are better explanations but overall this blog could use some organization and more writing. Next is the flight logs tab which follows the same theme as the home tab, more organization and writing would really benefit this page. The writing for the flight logs is very small making it hard to read and clearly follow the structure of the tables. The contact info tab is very dry and provides a minimalist amount of information. Overall this blog needs a lot of work and could use some more content explaining what is happening in clear detail.
2. The next blog is created by Hannah Adams for Geog 390 during the Spring of 2016. From the start this blog is much cleaner and nicer to look at. The colors are good and the organizational skills are much stronger compared to the last blog. There is sufficient writing that clearly explains the work being performed with all figures clearly labeled and referenced. Each post has a nice title and an introduction that summarizes the work to the user, making it easy for the reader to understand and follow the blog. The biggest issue with this blog is after the strong start of the home tab, the other pages are a big letdown. There is very little content apart from the home page and tabs like the contact information were created with minimal effort and do not draw any interest to the reader.
3. Next is the blog of Zach Miller from the Geog 390 class from Spring of 2017. The blog has a title that clearly shows the ready what the class was, and below the title is reference to Dr. Hupy who teaches the class. On the right hand side at the top of the page Zach has a short bio briefly introducing the reader to the author. This execution would have been nice if the link underneath the bio lead to a more in depth description of the author instead of a relatively empty page with a list of links to some of the Zach's other posts. If the link went to a more personal bio it would be a nice feature that gave the reader a chance to learn more about Zach if he or she wanted to, but as it stands now the short bio does not provide very much information about the author. The work on the main page seems organized and descriptive, however there is a lot of information all on one page and a lot of scrolling is required to see it all. It would be nice to have more tabs along the top of the page and various projects laid out more neatly.
4. This blog was written by Ryan Ferguson in at 419 Spring semester of 2019. Right away the work that was put into organizing this blog is noticeable. All of the projects are neatly lead out and organized in a full screen list for the user to easily sort through and access Ryan's projects. On top of that he added photos to the list to help illustrate what each project is about and attract the attention of the reader. Ryan has two links on the top of the page, one of which is his about me page. This provides a good brief summary of who Ryan is along with plenty of contact information should the reader choose to reach out to him. This blog shows great improvement on the curriculum with the UAS e-portfolios as the overall structure and content of the blog look very professional. It is clear this student took the assignments seriously and the work that is displayed on this post is very impressive, especially when compared to the work of the posts above.
5. This final blog was created by Ian Wiley for the 419 Spring Semester class. The photo at the top of this blog looks professional and draws attention of the reader to the author. At the top Ian has links to various pages within the blog from his about me page to some of the work he has accomplished in class, and once again it is evident that the curriculum has gotten more advanced based on the work Ian has shown. This blog is lacking in overall structure compared to the previous one and contains a significant amount of text when compared to the number of images.
Overall I preferred the look and organizational structure of Ryan's blog the most and strive to have a blog with content as organized as his. It was the most enjoyable to look at and read through and should be the most effective in capturing the attention of a future employer.

Lucas Wright Personal Information
My name is Lucas Wright and I am currently a Senior double majoring in Unmanned Aerial Systems and Aeronautical Engineering Technology with a minor focused on an Air frame and Power plant FAA license. I have had a passion for UAS since I was in 6th grade and have mostly flown as a hobbyist. I really got serious about the hobby starting my Junior year of High School when I began designing and flying my own home built air frames. I once spent an entire summer doing nothing other than increasing my knowledge and skills relating to UAS as I was working on a personal project of a 3D stunt plane. I specialize on fixed wing air frames as that is the one I am most experienced with and have always had the most passion for. Overall I have over a thousand hours of flight time and am a very experienced pilot when it comes to UAVs. My career goals in the UAS field is to help lead the world into an unmanned future, from cargo to commercial or military jets I believe that in my lifetime it is possible to have a community of unmanned jets, and I would love to see this hobby I have had since childhood go full scale.
